By the end of June, the Shenyang city police department has plans to add 100,000 surveillance cameras around the city. The cameras will be installed according to the differing needs of police precincts in the city, in keeping with street surveillance. For example, they could be installed along busy roadways, unsafe neighborhoods, around shopping malls, office buildings, schools and other needed areas. With the additional cameras, Shenyang will have a total of 200,000 surveillance cameras installed throughout the city.
