Shenyang Transport - Train

Four train stations service the city of Shenyang: Shenyang East Station, Shenyang North Station, Shenyang Railway Station and Sujiatun Station. In general, visitors should check their departure station in advance.
The north station provides services around Shenyang, and into major cities such as Beijing (5 hrs), Dalian (4 hrs), Dandong (4.5 hrs), Guangzhou (33.5 hrs), Changchun (2hrs), Harbin (4.5 hrs), Jilin (3 hrs), Shanghai (25.5 hrs) and Tianjin (about 5 hrs). Shenyang Railway Station operates trains to Changchun (2.5 hrs), Dalian (4 hrs), Dandong (4 hrs), Harbin (7 hrs), Tumen (14 hrs), Baihe (13 hrs) and Beijing (9 hrs).

Shenyang East Railway Station, originally named Fenghai Station, originally opened in 1927. Currently, Shenyang East Railway station mostly travels to destinations within Liaoning Province including: Yingkou, Dalian, Dandong, Tumen and other destinations. 

Sujiatun Railway Station, originally called Shenyang South Railway Station, was re-opened in 2010. This station mostly has trains that head to Dalian, Dandong, Harbin, Shanghai, Jiamusi, Zhengzhou, Mudan Jiang and Qiqihar.

There are three different ways to book a train ticket in Shenyang: over the phone, online and at the ticket window. Tickets can be purchased over the telephone (9510 5105) 4-12 days in advance. If you want to reserve tickets for trains departing between 6:00-12:00, the tickets must be collected on the same day between 12:00-24:00. For tickets departing between 12:00-23:00, ticket pick up time is from 0:00-12:00. Tickets are non transferable and are void if not used on the correct day.

To book tickets online, use the site www.12306.cn. Tickets can be reserved daily from 7:00-23:00 up to 12 days in advance. You can buy rail tickets at the sales window up to 10 days in advance. Trains are extremely crowded during festivals and National Holidays, so make sure to book your train tickets well in advance through any of the city’s travel agencies.
