Shenyang Metro Line 1 to Start Trial Operations

Shenyang metro Line 1 will open for a trial operation in early October. Metro Line 1 (Qingnian Avenue station to Shenyang Railway station) began transporting passengers for the first time on September 16th. Construction for Shenyang metro Line 1 broken ground on November 18, 2005 and is the first rapid transit line built in northeast parts of China. It travels from west to east with a total of 22 stations, all of which are underground. Metro Line 1 starts at the 13th Street station (Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Area) in the west and travels to Liming Cultural Palace station in the east.
