Last September, Ningbo's first "outlet-style" mall, Shanjing Outlet Plaza, opened with minimal expectations by most people who knew about the project. But contrary to those expectations, business is booming: during its first two months of operations, Shanjing Outlet Plaza’s total turnover has exceeded 50 million RMB, an average daily turnover of nearly 1 million RMB! Even as the seasons change and it becomes cooler outside, it does not seem to have affected Shanjing Outlet Plaza’s business, which has become a favourite shopping place for much of the city's white-collar population, who are quite happy with the size of the outlet mall and the wide selection of designer brands. Free shuttle buses and parking for 1,000 cars hasn't hurt either.
