Unisex toilets are being introduced to Shanghai, with the first opening in Jing’an, Xuhui and Jiading districts.

The bathrooms have been modified from previous disabled bathrooms, and some include changing facilities for babies and will make going to the bathroom more convenient for both fathers and mothers to accompany children to the bathroom.

Zhang Caoyun, deputy director of the Shangahi Public Sanitation and Environment Quality Monitoring Center said that “unisex toilets are a future trend”.
