Shanghai Tops List of World’s Most Expensive Cities for Owning a Car
Apr 08, 2013 By eChinacities.com

According to The Economist, Shanghai tops the list of the world’s most expensive cities for owning a car.

Interestingly, the total cost of running a car has actually fallen in Shanghai since 2005-07, mainly due to lower car prices. However, The Economist suggests that some of the higher purchase prices in Shanghai (still technically an emerging market) is due to the import costs of high-end brands like Mercedes and Audi.
