The Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway started trial operations on April 8th. An electric train used to test the newly built transit line was tested up to a speed of 160 km/hr. Hu-Ning Intercity Railway is 300 km in length, with 31 stations dotting the transit line between Shanghai and Nanjing. Trains are designed to travel at 300 km/hr: express trains make stops only at major stations (250km/hr, 96 minutes for the trip); regular trains make stops at every station (160km/hr, 171 minutes for the trip).
