The joint investment agreement between The Walt Disney Company and the Shanghai Shendi Group has pledged to commit a further 800 Million USD to the already massive project of building a Disneyland theme park in Shanghai.

The new investment will be added to the 4 Billion USD already committed to the project. Of the new funds, Shendi will contribute just more than half, with Disney supplying the rest.

Shanghai’s Disneyland is projected to open at the end of 2015 and will be built on a 3.9 square kilometer plot of land.
