To crack down on vendors ripping off tourists by shorting the weight of various products, the Sanya municipal Government has designated that electronic scales should be used in all fruit shops and seafood restaurants in Sanya. The measure is being promoted in all food markets across Sanya. As of December 8th, 234 such scales have been installed. The total number of electronic scales is expected to be around 6,000.
