Sanya Passes Regulations to Protect Customers from Unscrupulous Restaurants
Oct 18, 2012 By eChinacities.com

The Sanya government recently passed the "Sanya Restaurant Industry Pricing Regulations", a set of regulations meant to protect consumers from the unscrupulous practices of local restaurant owners. Among other things, the bill stipulates that restaurants may not set "minimum expenditure" prices; that prices for all food and beverages must be clearly marked; and that restaurants may not charge for non-food and drink specific charges, such as sterilization, corkage, air conditioning, preferential seating or catering. Violators of these new regulations will be punished.
