Sanya local authorities’ recent crackdown on nudity on the beach didn’t deter the city’s naked sunbathers over the Labor Day holiday. May 1 saw several beach-goers defiantly bare all and then pay the price for it.
Police came to patrol the area, handing out fliers and repeatedly asking the sunbathers to put their speedos back on but two men adamantly refused to cover up and were subsequently arrested.
In order to make sure that the anti-nudity laws are being obeyed, Sanya police are going to be patrolling the beaches more regularly, setting up surveillance equipment and speakers to remind visitors to keep their bathing suits on.
