Plum Blossom Festival to Bloom in Nanjing

One of the most beloved flowers in China and East Asia, for centuries, plum blossoms have been frequently depicted in Chinese art and poetry both as a symbol of winter as well as a harbinger of spring. The Nanjing Plum Blossom Festival will kick off on Feb.14 and last for a month at the Meihua Mountain Nature Reserve. (meihua means plum blossom in Chinese). Visitors will be able to see the bloom of 300 ancient blossoms and a recently introduced garden of potted plants. Admission is 50 RMB for regular tickets and free for annual pass holders.
