One Hundred Pedicabs for Visitors Hit the Streets in Suzhou
May 20, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Starting early this month, Suzhou deployed 100 pedicabs in the Panmen Scenic Area as a new way to transport visitors around the area. There are four stops throughout the scenic area where visitors can take advantage of these new rides: at the front entrance into the Panmen Scenic Area; by the north side of No. 1 Department Store on Jingde Rd; at Lion Forest (Shizilin) Scenic Area; by the intersection between Changxu Rd and Jinmen Rd in Shilu District.

By the end of May, a total of 430 tricycles will be in operation and more than 40 stops will be set up around Suzhou. The pedicabs have had a made-over of sorts – the tricycles are newer models complete with uniformed drivers.
