The bus network in Ningbo is quite extensive and is a very economical way to travel around Ningbo, but is notoriously busy and crowded during rush hour. A single journey on a standard bus costs 1 RMB, doubling to 2 RMB for the air-conditioned buses. Visitors can buy an IC card (a stored-value swipe card), which is convenient and economical.
