Mar 02, 2009 By eChinacities.com

Starting since the recent event of the Lantern Festival, lights will be on every weekend and holidays on both sides along the 21-kilometer Hangzhou section of the canal. The unique canal lighting will regain the vigor of the ancient canal and enrich the culture for Hangzhou tourism.

From Feb. 20 on, the program of the night sightseeing in the canal will be launched. This year, due to lighting along the canal, the night sightseeing will be more wonderful and attractive. From this Friday on, Hangzhou Water Bus Company will first promote night tour in the canal. Citizens and tourists can take canal boats to enjoy the night views along the canal. The time for the night tour is at 7:30 pm every weekend and the boat route is from Wulinmen to Genshanmen to Qiaoxi and back to Wulinmen and the time duration is about 1 hour. Tourists can get on boats at Wulinmen Pier. The ticket costs RMB 100 Yuan. Travelers cannot get off a boat halfway. No citizens' cards or expense tickets can be used at present. If there are some queries, people can call Wulinmen Pier at 0571-85190851 for details.
