New Harbin-Wuhan High Speed Rail Breaks Record

A new high speed railway route has opened up between Harbin and Wuhan, breaking the world record for the longest high speed railway line.

The new line is 2421 kilometers long and began operating on the morning of December 10. Trains G1276/7 and G1278/5 depart from Harbin West Railway Station and it takes approximately 14 hours and 38 minutes from start to finish; that’s 8 hours less than the previous journey times for this route.

The route has 23 stops and passes through Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui and Hubei. Standard tickets cost 879.5 RMB, first class are 1360 RMB and premier class tickets are 1634.5 RMB.
