One of the final acts of 2013 in Hangzhou, one that was not widely spoken of but important nonetheless, was the opening of new fast trains from Hangzhou to Shenzhen and Shenyang. Trains to both cities will leave from Hangzhou East station. Trains heading to Shenzhen are the D2281/2283/2289. The train heading to Shenyang is the G1222.
