Jun 26, 2012 By eChinacities.com

A new draft law is currently in discussion which proposes shortening the minimum stay for foreigners holding work certificates from 180 days to 90 days. The new law was submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee on June 26 for its third reading. In other related news, the tightening of security in regards to foreigners living and working in China is already showing positive results according to the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee. Restrictions have been made clearer, illegal entrance, residence, and employment of foreigners in China have been reduced, and increased surveillance surrounding such infringements of the law has been successfully implemented.

What does the article actually mean? That foreigners on Z visas have to stay at least 90 days before leaving? If they are on a Z visa, that is usually one year (I guess that is the maximum stay before it has to be extended).

Every person is responsible for their own opinion. Some opinions are based on their position and viewpoint, while others based their opinions strictly on emotion. I personally place my focus on the issue at hand... which is the reduction of time allowed for working foreigners in China. The world is a big place and opportunity is something that goes in two directions.... it's available to those connected either through the right place / right time... or it happens because one maximizes his or her qualifications through working as smart as they work hard. My personal advice to those having a gripe or issue with the contents of this article is... Why make complaints... just make moves which build towards success.
