On the early morning of July 15, the southern part of Hangzhou 3rd Qiantang River Bridge suddenly collapsed causing a truck loaded with steel to fall from the bridge. The driver was injured while jumping from the truck. Astonishingly, an Internet user, nicknamed Tianlanhuiyin (天籁慧音), foretold the incident as early as August 15th, 2007 in a forum: “Amazing coincidence! Two collapsing bridges this year were built by the same construction organisation, which also took charge of the 3rd Qiantang River Bridge. That bridge is surely in danger of collapsing too!”

On August 16th 2007, another post on Shaoxing E Forum also contained the following warning message: “Dear friends, be aware of the 3rd Qiantang River Bridge. Jiujiang River Bridge and Dixi Bridge have collapsed. All of the three bridges were built by the same company, Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group Corp.”
