Construction is expected to begin on the Nanning East Railway Station – a project estimated to be worth 6.07 billion RMB. The station is expected to be completed at the end of 2012 and will become a Nanning local landmark. The Nanning East Railway Station will also serve as a railway passenger center, a receptor for urban rail lines, a short distance regional and suburban bus transit center, an urban bus transit, a taxi stand and as an all-purpose large-scale transportation hub. By 2020, the volume of passengers using this station could reach 334.8 million.
