Aug 19, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Nanjing authorities are upgrading security for the Nanjing subway network, with increased restrictions on items permitted to be carried on passengers. All sharp tools are now strictly prohibited and all liquids will need to be checked before being taken onto the the subway.

Because of the amplified security measures, passengers can now expect longer waiting times before getting onto the subway. Local police are advising passengers to arrive the subway earlier than planned to accomodate the security check.
