Fuzimiao Street (GongYuan Street) 夫子庙街

Constructed around and named after the nearby Confucian temple, Fuzimiao is now the busiest cultural and tourist destination in the city. Thronged with snack vendors, dealers in overpriced knickknacks, and shops selling Buddhist relics, this irresistible part of town is worth a long stroll. Take in the sights and sounds at night when brilliant lanterns illuminate the area, turning the surface of the water into a smooth expanse of rippling lights.
Bus routes: 1, 7, 31, 40 and 301 or the special tourist lines of No.2 or 4 and get off at Fuzimiao stop. Alternately, board 2, 4, 16, 33, 44 or 49 and get off at Changle Lu.

Shiziqiao Food Street 狮子桥美食街
Located between Hubei Lu and Hunan Lu, Shiziqiao is marked by ornately carved stone archways topped with fanciful sculptures of Chinese lions. This little pedestrian street brings dozens of excellent restaurants from all over Asia and the West together in one busy location.

Hanfu Street 汉府街美食街
Hanfu Street, opposite Nanjing Presidential Hall, is the most recent of Nanjing’s gourmet streets. Rather than focusing on international foods, Hanfu offers a wide variety of domestic fare. Sichuan food, ethnic Guizhou food, Tibetan barbecue, northeastern dumplings and more. Coffee shops and teahouses also proliferate.
