Anyone caught wearing high heels of more than 4 cm while behind the wheel in Nanjing may soon be handed an on-the-spot fine of 50 RMB. According to reports, the new stipulation is included in a bill handed to the 13th CPC Suzhou Provincial Standing Committee, which is collecting votes before it passes into law.

The report said the regulation had been suggested out of a concern for the safety of drivers, stipulating they should not wear slippers, high heels of more than 4 cm, or be barefoot. Other hazardous acts include smoking and talking on the mobile phone.
