Just days after being shut down for selling expired products, the McDonald's restaurant located in Sanlitun quietly reopened on the morning of March 22nd. In response to the scandal, a letter of apology was seen posted on the front entrance on March 25th. The phrases "deeply sorry", "supervision", "criticism" and "product quality" were printed in the apology in a large size font. According to the Beijing McDonald's head office, between the time that the restaurant was shut down and reopened, the Sanlitun branch cooperated with the relevant departments to conduct a thorough inspection of their facilities. Following the self-inspection and training, the restaurant was aloud to reopen.
