Location and Climate

Wuxi is a large city in Jiangsu Province, sitting in the middle of the Yangtze Delta. Its north side reaches as far as the Yangtze River and it touches Lake Taihu to the south. The closest large cities to Wuxi are Nanjing to the west and Shanghai to the east.

Temperatures in summer can go as high as 39C (102.2F), and the winter cold can surprise, plunging as low as -9C (15.8F). Wuxi has a humid rainy season between Spring and Summer, with average rainfall of around 1,000 millimeters.
