Due to a substantial increase in demand for taxi reservations, the Kunming Taxi Management Centre is beginning to develop a new “dial a cab” service. Since the end of 2010, most of the taxis in Kunming have been equipped with a GPS system and could connect with the dispatch centre through computer-controlled radios. If everything goes according to plan, the “dial a cab” service should be available by next July.
