Zan Baoshi, chairman of the board of Datong’s Huayue Group Ltd, was kidnapped on his way to work on Tuesday morning. The company’s chairman Dong Jiewei reported the incident to the police and said that the kidnappers had contacted the company and demanded a ransom of $20 million.

Police bureau assistant Wang Wencheng personally led a team of 10 officers to rescue Zan. They tracked the kidnappers down to Maozao village and began to search for Zan.
