According to news issued from a Wuhan government department on November 25th, the Shijiazhuang-Wuhan and Hankou-Yichang railway will open to traffic next year. This means that from 2011 onwards, journey time from Wuhan to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu will all be reduced to around 4 hours per trip.
