Nearly 85 percent of Chinese netizens experienced personal information leakage online, while 456 million users (70 percent) expressed concern about the security of online shopping in China, according to the 2012 annual internet security report developed by market research firm iResearch and computer experts from Tencent.
The report also shows that nearly 100,000 companies are involved in online scamming and hacking, with new security threats appearing once every second on average, while network intrusions occur once every five minutes. Almost 75 percent of these companies featured one or more “zombies” (viruses that make hacked computers send spam or perform other malicious tasks), and 90 percent of these hacked computers also host malicious software. Many of these companies were also reported to use Trojan Horses to steal personal information and sell them on to third parties.

I’ve always read write-ups like this, but I think yours was written very well with the key points laid out satisfactorily. As a tech noob I just recently opted to use a VPN for my online security. I’ve had FrootVPN https://www.frootvpn.com/ since then and I can say I will stick to it for a long time now. It’s high speed and encrypted so I’m okay with it and for my budget. Anyways, thanks for the article!
