Hefei has a subtropical monsoon climate, with average annual temperatures of 15.7℃. Summers get very hot (28℃ average) and May to June is rainy season. Spring and fall is usually quite pleasant, though these seasons are very short. It’s also not surprising that this small window-frame is when most travelers head to Hefei and the surrounding areas. Winters can get very cold in Hefei; the average temperature in January is 2.5℃.
