Mar 06, 2010 By eChinacities.com

The “gray building” on Zhonghua North Road in Shijiazhuang has long been reputed as the birthplace of the first ever People's Bank of China – the first issuer of RMB. Recently the “gray building” has undergone renovations and repair and has reopened to the public as the Hebei Coin Museum. Residents just need to bring their ID cards to gain free admission. There are four exhibition halls in the museum to document the different historical periods with corresponding issuance of various coins and paper money.
