Hangzhou West Lake Becomes 41st Chinese Site to Join World Heritage List

At midnight on June 25th, the 35th session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee inscribed Hangzhou’s West Lake on UNESCO's World Heritage List, in recognition of it being an extraordinary model of cultural landscape. It is the 41st world heritage site to be inscribed on the list in China. The 41 Chinese sites currently on the list include 29 cultural properties, eight natural properties and four mixed properties.
