On October 1st, 2010, Tangxi Old Town in Hangzhou is scheduled to open a new historic-style pedestrian walkway to visitors. The walkway will feature eateries offering local special cuisines and delicacies, as well as arts and crafts gift shops. A great number of retailers have already signed up to lease shops lining the new walkway.
The new walkway is located at the center section of the main Tangxi attraction area, and is surrounding by residential architecture in typical of the period between the Ming and Qing dynasties. The historic-style walkway is designed and based on the rich history of the local culture.
