Hangzhou Offers 72-Hour Transit Visa On Arrival
Oct 28, 2014 By eChinacities.com

This week, Hangzhou’s International Airport has started offering the 72-hour transit visa on arrival. The visa can be obtained by nationals from 51 different countries, including the United States, Russia, Britain, France and Japan.

By allowing this visa to be issued, Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, hopes to boost tourism and business, as well as cultural exchanges. During the first half of this year, Hangzhou only saw 1.5 million tourists from abroad, a number which the municipal tourism commission hopes will increase with the new visa policy.

Other Chinese cities that have implemented the same policy include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian and Guilin.
