Guilin Transport - Train

There are two railway stations in Guilin: Guilin Railway Station and Guilin North Railway Station. Guilin Railway Station (South Station) is to the south of the city center but is more conveniently situated than the North Station. Rail journey times to major destinations: Nanning –5.5 hrs; Liuzhou - 2.2 hrs; Shenzhen - 13hrs; Beijing –23 hrs; Chengdu –25 hrs; Zhanjiang –9 hrs; and Shanghai -20 hrs. Trains from Beijing to Hanoi, Vietnam, stop in Guilin every Tuesday and Saturday. Note: It is not easy to buy sleeper tickets at the Guilin sales office, as the city is a mid-route stop rather than a terminus.

At Guilin Station, there is a bus to Yangshuo that costs 14 Yuan per person. The journey from Guilin Station to Yangshuo Station takes about 70 minutes and usually runs every 15 minutes. Passengers can ask the driver to stop at multiple locations including Yangdi intersection and Baisha.

There are three different ways to book a train ticket from Guilin: over the phone, online and at the ticket window. Tickets can be purchased over the telephone (9510 5195) up to 12 days in advance.
