Yangshuo West Street 阳朔西街
Yangshou West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history spanning 1,400 years. Situated at the center of Yangshuo County, West Street has become, since the 1980's, a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world. For that reason it has become known as the biggest “foreign language center” in China. Besides the local dialect of Yangshuo, English is widely used: don’t be surprised if you hear even the elderly speaking some English words! Nearly every store on the West Street has bilingual shop signs, and more than 20 stores have been opened by foreigners who have settled here.
Visiting West Street, you will be surrounded by a blend of traditional Chinese folk elements with modern international touches. Many souvenir shops, craft shops, painting and calligraphy stores, backpack shops, cafes, and Chinese Kung Fu academies jostle for your attention. You may find a multitude of items, from embroidered silk cloth and wax-painted weaving, to the tiny shoes once worn by women who had their feet bound in pre-revolutionary China.

Zhengyang Pedestrian Street 正阳步行街
Originally a thoroughfare for Ming royalty, Zhengyang Pedestrian Street is approximately 666 meters long and is located in the heart of the downtown area. Today it is dotted with numerous restaurants, hotels, clothing stores, theatres, stadiums, and commercial facilities. Its shops and restaurants attracts thousands of people daily, and at night it pulses with life as people enjoy the many bars, cafes and restaurants. McDonald’s and KFC can be found in the area.

Xichenglu Pedestrian Street 西城路步行街
Located in the west of the city, Xichenglu Pedestrian Street is the second commercial center of the city. Restaurants, clothing stores and other retailers can be found here. The first Cuisine Cultural Festival, a cross-strait festival between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, was held here in December 2006. If you want to try Guilin cuisine, this is the place to go.

Zhongshan Lu Business Street 中山路商业街
Zhongshan Lu is the main street running north to south in Guilin. Conveniently located on this street are the Tourism & Cultural Center, Business Center, and other major office buildings.   The street is subdivided into three major parts: Zhongshan Beilu, Zhongshan Zhonglu and Zhongshan Nanlu, covering over 10 km. Located on this street are Weixiaotang Department Store, Hua Zhong Hua and Guilin Department Store and the Night Market in Zhongshan Zhonglu.
