October 12th, the "Forbes Best Commercial City in Mainland China 2010" list was released. Guangzhou takes the crown on the list this year and Shanghai, last year's champion, lost the number one spot because of high operating costs. The top ten cities are; Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Beijing, Wuxi, Ningbo, Nanjing and Tianjin.
According to reports, this is Forbes 7th version of the best commercial cities in mainland China list. The list this year used eight indicators, Talent Index, city size index, consumption index, passenger index, freight index, operating cost index, index of economic activity, and innovation index, to measure the overall business environment in mainland cities.
