Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is approximately 28 km outside the city center. Flights from this airport connect Guangzhou with more than 100 domestic cities including Beijing (3 hrs), Shanghai (2 hrs), Wuhan (1.5 hrs), Chengdu (2.3 hrs), Chongqing (2 hrs), Haikou (1.2 hrs), Hong Kong (1 hr) among others. 30 different international flights are offered as well, including direct flights to Singapore (4 hrs), Kuala Lumpur (4 hrs), Sydney (9 hrs), Melbourne (10.5 hrs), Bangkok (3 hrs) and Osaka (3.5 hrs). In addition, the airport also offers direct flights to other Southeast Asian destinations, including Yangon (Rangoon) (3 hrs), Vietnam (2 hrs), Phuket (2 hrs) and Angkor (1.5 hrs).

The airport is reachable by taxi, bus and shuttle with the latter being the most budget friendly way to travel to and from the city. Travelers interested in reaching the city center via taxi should expect to pay 100-120 RMB. Travelers can also ride the Line 3 North Extension directly into the city (from Airport South to Tiyu Xi Lu Station), which takes about 45 minutes. In addition, direct buses head to Zhuhai, Shenzhen Huanggang Port and Hong Kong Keshidian Cross-border Bus Station from the airport. One-way tickets to these destinations are 80 RMB, 80 RMB and 110 RMB, respectively. Buses traveling to Zhuhai run approximately every 2.5 hours with the last bus departing at 20:30. Buses traveling to Shenzhen Huanggang Port and Hong Kong Keshidian Cross-border Bus Station leave every 20 minutes and run 7:00-18:15.  

Shuttle Service

Shuttle buses from Baiyun Airport to Shenzhen Futian terminal building run 9:30-21:50, with buses departing every 60 minutes. The journey takes about three hours and costs 88 RMB.

Shuttle buses from Baiyun Airport to Gongbei Zhuhai run 8:40-22:20. The journey takes about three hours and costs 80 RMB.

There are 11 airport express bus lines serving passengers to and from the airport. Most shuttle services travel at regular intervals, with fares ranging from 13-36 RMB.
