On the evening of July 11, Guangzhou Police stationed six squads of officers near the Luohu Railway Station in Shenzhen and captured the leader of an illegal border crossing operation. The leader in question was from Pakistan and police also rounded up 12 South East Asians suspected of illegally crossing the border from Hong Kong.
Following investigations, the group reportedly entered the country on tourists visas and paid the leader of the group around 7-8,000 RMB to work illegally in and around Macau.
The case is currently this year’s biggest incident of illegal immigration on the Hong Kong-Guangdong border.
Police are currently investigating the case further.
