Jul 02, 2012 By eChinacities.com

The Guangzhou Municipal Government decided that starting July 1, it will limit the issuance of number plates for small and medium sized passenger cars.  The established quota for the amount of cars allowed to register is now 10,000 per month.  Whether the limiting system will be by lottery or auction, is still unclear.  Guangzhou has become the fourth city in China to limit car registration after Beijing, Shanghai, and Guiyang.
