Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong have Highest GDP in Mainland China

Information on the GDP of 31 of China’s provinces and regions was published yesterday. Out of the 31 provinces and regions reported, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shandong have the highest GDP. Guangdong and Jiangsu’s GDP are both larger than 7 trillion Yuan. 25 provinces are in the trillion Yuan club—they’ve recorded over a trillion Yuan in GDP. Economic growth in the 31 provinces ranged from 7% to 23%.

Preliminary numbers show that Mainland China’s 2015 GDP was about 68 trillion Yuan, an increase of 6.8% from the previous year.

Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Henan, and Sichuan had GDP over 3 trillion Yuan. Xinjiang, Gansu, Hainan, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Tibet had GDP of less than 1 trillion.
