A new measure that grants 2-5 year work permits to high-ranking foreign talent working in the Qianhai Economic Zone in Shenzhen went into effect on September 1. Those who meet the criteria may also apply for a Chinese “green card”.
These long-term visas are targeted at senior personnel whose skills and qualifications are in high demand in China. Spouses and children under 18 of successful candidates will also be eligible for the long-stay visas.
