A flight experienced engine failure during takeoff at Beijing International Capital Airport on Sunday evening. All passengers were safe. The airport launched emergency procedure and brought out fire engines on standby.

Beijing News reported that an Air China flight had decelerated on the runway during launch. The airport quickly dispatched fire engines and emergency vehicles. “I thought I saw the aircraft’s engine catch fire,” said an eyewitness.

Beijing Capital Airport verified the reports. All passengers were shuttled back to the main terminal.
