First tourism route by railway between China and North Korea

Tumen, Jilin has signed a tourism cooperation agreement with North Korea to open tourism route by railway from Tumen, Jilin to Nanyang, Chongjin and Mountain Chilbo, North Korea.  It is the first time for China and North Korea to open tourism route by railway between the two countries.

 

Located in the lower reaches of Tumen River, Tumen is quite near North Korea. There is one route available between the two countries—pedestrian tour from Tumen to Nanyang, North Korea opened on May 22nd, 2008.
