First Sam’s Club (Wal-Mart) Store Opens in Hangzhou

Hangzhou’s first Sam’s Club store—part of the Wal-Mart brand—opened in Hangzhou’s Impression City Shopping Center on April 28.

The new store covers 20,000 sq. m and sells approximately 4,600 kinds of goods, such as fresh foods, dry goods, home appliances, clothing and more. On the opening day, the most popular items were the imported Australian sirloin steaks, king crabs and lobsters.

Membership to Sam’s Club cost 150 RMB per person per year, as does the business membership.
