Dutch Matangi Quartet Concert to be Held in Dalian June 21

Dutch band Matangi Quartet will perform at the Dalian Development Area Grand Theatre on June 21. The Matangi Quartet, known as one of the top Dutch chamber music bands, is composed of four musicians: Maria-Paula Majoor and Daniel Torrico Menacho on the violin, Karsten Kleijer on the viola and Arno van der Vuurst on the cello.

The quartet has been invited to perform at a variety of festivals and concerts and has shared the stage with top classical musicians. In 2002, Matangi was awarded the prestigious Kersjes van de Groenekan Award, an annual prize awarded to exceptional chamber music talent in the Netherlands. In 2008, the quartet won third prize at the International Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition in Weimar.
