United Airlines is opening a new direct route from Chengdu to San Francisco starting June 11. The Boeing 747 will make the return journey three times a week. This will mark the first direct flights to the USA from the Midwestern region.
Flight UA8 will depart every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 10:00 from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and arrive at San Francisco International Airport at 08:50 local time.
The flight will take roughly 13 hours and 50 minutes on the outbound flight and 14 hours and 15 minutes on the return flight to Chengdu.
