Feb 13, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Xinhua reported on February 12 that it has come to light that several dating and marriage websites have been targeted for illegal practices, including prostitution and scamming customers.

In recent years, the number of dating services available online has exploded, bringing about a lot of problems of illegal practices such as fraud and disclosing users’ private information. Problems have been found with matchmaking sites across the board, from marriage websites to more casual dating sites.

The National Network Information Office will be investigating into a large range of dating websites for signs of prostitution or fraud. Information about dating sites will be compiled into a database and those seen to be violating the law will be blacklisted.
