The godfather of Chinese Rock, Cui Jian, will be headlining the opening of the Shanhai Music Festival that kicks off July 19 and goes on until August 30.
The festival aims to bring the best independent music to the city for over a month. July 19 there will be a 5 hour extravaganza featuring Cui Jian, Tang Dynasty, Cobra, Zuoyou and Supermoment.
Then, from July 20-27, there will be seven consecutive days of music, before continuing the party every weekend from July 27 to August 30.
