Construction on Airport in South of Beijing to Begin This Summer
Mar 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Local authorities have announced that construction on an airport in the south of Beijing is likely to start later this year. The hope is that this new airport will ease traffic at Beijing Capital International Airport, which, with a passenger volume of over 83 million in 2013, is the second busiest airport in the world.

Wang Xueqiu, senior political advisor of the northern Chinese city Langfang, where around one third of the airport will be, and deputy to the National People’s Congress, China's top legislature, has said the new airport will hopefully open in 2018.
